Served 5 minutes after warming in tiny-bubble water (nuru-kan, about 40°C) proliferating on the base of the pan but few yet rising. Very pleasing citrus (orange) first taste. Smooth. Golden. Warm afterglow. Mouth-filling, golden warmth after first cup. Slight rice nose. Second cup, mellow rice notes come through as it cools. Third cup, loses complexity, a milky, ricey sweetness and residual fiery heat predominates, but brings a smile to the face. Cooled to winter room temperature, it is mildly milky, floral and residually fiery.
Thank you for that wonderfully detailed review Nick, I can almost experience it from your words and happy the Waning Moon brought a smile to the face :)
