Binchotan Jomaru Charcoal has been crafted by The Lau Company using traditional Japanese binchotan methods. This larger diameter premium charcoal has been made from sustainably harvested Laotian hardwood and carbonised slowly in clay kilns, to deliver long-lasting, high heat with minimal smoke and no unwanted flavours.

The Jomaru style refers to its larger size, round shape and cut ends, with each piece measuring approximately 3.5–4.5 cm in diameter and 20–28 cm in length. These solid, dense sticks offer an extended burn time and are ideal for larger grills, open-flame cooking and commercial setups, as well as serious home grilling.

Used in Japan for robata, yakitori and hibachi-style grilling, this Laotian Jomaru binchotan delivers excellent heat retention and low ash production.

Lighting: Binchotan takes longer to ignite than standard charcoal (around 20–30 minutes). Use a chimney starter, gas burner or strong flame with good airflow for best results.

Grilling: Once lit, the charcoal produces an even, high heat ideal for meat, seafood or vegetables.

Reusability: After use, submerge the charcoal in a bucket of water until completely cooled, then allow it to air dry before storing it somewhere dry.
