Made from pesticide-free Japanese maple trees, the leaves are processed with a unique technology which preserves their delicate flavour and texture. You can use them just as you would other edible leaves and flowers. Their vibrant colour and aroma make them an excellent addition to a range of culinary applications.
The maple leaves are manufactured by the Maple Laboratory, a Japanese company dedicated to innovating products derived from Japanese maple for use as ingredients in the food, nutraceutical, and beauty industries. They have planted more than 2000 maple trees in Tajimi, central Japan, in a project aimed at revitalising the local landscape and economy by encouraging the involvement of the local community in their Maple Town project.
Desserts: Dried maple leaves can be used to decorate cakes, adding both visual appeal and a unique flavour component.
Garnish: Use dried maple leaves alongside pressed edible flowers to add a pop of red colour and a hint of flavour to salads, desserts, appetisers and cocktails.
