Fresh Watercress
About watercress
With a proud heritage dating back to Victorian times, watercress was once a staple of the British diet, picked fresh each morning and sold in bunches to city workers on their way to factories and offices. It was nutritious, affordable, and quick to eat on the go – we like to think it may have been one of the first (and certainly healthiest) fast foods!
Watercress is one of the most nutritious leafy greens you can eat. Grown in flowing spring water and packed with isothiocyanates (the compounds that give it that distinctive peppery hit), it’s also rich in vitamins C, A and K. Trim it into a salad, stir it into a soup, blend it into a smoothie, whizz it into pesto, have it in a sandwich… We really do think that watercress is underrated.
Our farms use traditional growing techniques so that each leaf is bursting with flavour. Find out just how much flavour and order now!
