The Date Plum Persimmon is a hardy deciduous tree grown for its attractive foliage and small sweet fruits.
In spring and summer, the tree develops a canopy of glossy green leaves. As autumn approaches, the foliage turns yellow and gold before dropping to reveal clusters of small, round fruits that ripen to deep purple-brown.
Once fully ripe and softened, these fruits develop a rich sweetness often compared to dates, which has inspired the name Date Plum.
Well suited to the UK climate, these trees are hardy and adaptable, making them an excellent choice for gardens and orchards. Their elegant shape, seasonal colour and unusual fruits make them both a productive and ornamental addition to the garden.
While persimmon trees can produce fruit on their own, planting them in a small group can improve pollination and often results in a more reliable and abundant harvest so we also offer a group of 3 plants.
Note: Our young Persimmon trees are currently small starter plants, but with the right care and growing conditions they will establish quickly and grow into healthy, productive trees over time.

- Mature Height: Around 8–12 m (26–40 ft) if grown in open ground.
- Spread: Approximately 6–8 m, forming a broad, rounded canopy over time.
