How to Grow Japanese Mibuna in the UK
Sowing Time:
Sow from February to September for successive harvests throughout the growing season.
Position:
Grow in full sun or partial shade.
Soil Type:
Moist, fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter.
Sowing Instructions:
- Sow seeds approximately 1cm deep
- Keep soil evenly moist until germination
- Thin seedlings to allow good airflow
- Grow in containers, raised beds or directly in vegetable borders
- Sow little and often for a continuous supply of leaves
Watering & Care:
Water regularly, especially during dry weather, to encourage tender growth. Remove outer leaves as required or harvest whole plants when mature.
Harvest:
Begin harvesting young leaves in as little as 3–4 weeks, with regular picking continuing through to December.
