This Japanese wineberry jam is sweet and tangy, with a smooth, spreadable texture that's perfect for toast or yogurt.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups Japanese wineberries, washed
  • 1½ cups sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  • In a large pot, combine berries and sugar. Let sit for 15–20 minutes to release juices.
  • Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 15–20 minutes until thickened.
  • Stir in lemon juice (and vanilla if using).
  • Pour into sterilized jars, seal, and let cool. Refrigerate once opened.

Spread on toast or croissants, swirl into yogurt, or use to fill tarts and muffins
