Grow crisp, refreshing Japanese cucumbers at home with this pack of two ‘Bon Odori’ Kyuri starter plants.

This popular Japanese variety produces slender, dark green cucumbers with thin skin, excellent crunch and a mild, sweet flavour that’s perfect for salads, pickling and sushi dishes.

Fast-growing and highly productive, Kyuri cucumbers are ideal for greenhouses, polytunnels or sunny sheltered spots outdoors during the British summer.

How to Grow

  • Plant in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun.
  • Suitable for greenhouses, raised beds, large containers or sheltered outdoor spaces.
  • Support plants with canes, trellis or netting as they climb.
  • Water consistently to prevent bitter fruit.
  • Feed regularly with a high-potash fertiliser once flowering begins.

How to Harvest

  • Harvest cucumbers when they are young and firm, typically around 15–20cm long.
