Unlike traditional toasted sesame oils, this first cold-pressed oil is unroasted, allowing the fresh, delicate flavours of the sesame to shine through. Its light, aromatic taste makes it perfect for enhancing both classic and contemporary dishes.
The oil is crafted through a precise, time-honoured process of seed selection, pressing, purifying and filtering. Production is entrusted to just 11 skilled artisans, trained by the third generation of the Yamada Seiyu family, who have been producing exceptional sesame oil in Japan for over 100 years.
Produced entirely naturally, with no artificial processes or chemicals, even the leftover seeds are reused to create other sesame products.
