A zesty explosion of aromatic, complex yuzu flavours. This delicious yuzu liqueur delivers a citrus zing that is balanced with light sugar sweetness. Mouth-watering citrus juice on the nose, with gentle citrus acidity and tingling charisma, followed by a final hit of sweetness and lasting zestiness.
This is an innovative approach to citrus. Far more refined than a limoncello, it is zesty and juicy but with all the subtlety of the citrus fruit preserved. Every part of the fresh yuzu is used to capture as wide a range of the complex flavour as possible.
About yuzu
Known as the 'Queen of Citrus’ in Japan, yuzu is a cross between a wild citrus and a sour mandarin. It originated, and grows wild, in central China and Tibet. Yuzu delivers a famously aromatic and complex blend of citrus - there are notes of fresh mandarin, grapefruit and lime aroma, with a lemon-orange acidity.
The way we make our Yuzucello is distinct from limoncello. Traditionally, limoncello is made exclusively with lemon zest (no juice or pith), macerated in high-strength alcohol for 4-5 days, then filtered, diluted and sugar added. By contrast, our aim here is to preserve the complex flavour of the whole yuzu fruit, while still producing a highly flavourful product that speaks for itself. It has the two typical hallmarks of a liqueur: it has more sugar and less alcohol than the spirit it started as.
How to enjoy Yuzucello
Yuzucello is perfect as an aperitif or digestif, particularly on a balmy summer evening. For a refreshing long drink, simply add soda water and ice. Or for a sophisticated Yuzucello spritzer, it can be combined with prosecco or another sparkling white wine.
We also love a Yuzucello mojito: shake fresh mint, ice, white rum and Yuzucello for one minute. Pour over ice, top up with soda water and garnish with fresh mint, plus a slice of yuzu or lemon.

"The nose is lemony, and with hints of grapefruit with satisfying depth, the taste is very authentic and natural. This liquid delivers well on the mouthfeel and really reflects high quality production. The finish has a good length to it.
"A pretty pale lemon spirit with light legs and an appealing grassy citrus nose. It put the judges in mind of a Japanese style gimlet, the alcohol was soft and well integrated with a pure fresh fruit and a hint of grapefruit. Delicious."
