Japanese Ume plum vinegar is a unique and refreshing drink that is both full of flavour and beneficial to your health.

The vinegar is produced by Sennari, a renowned Japanese company known for its high-quality vinegars and condiments, made using natural fermentation processes without artificial additives.

Ume (Prunus mume), are often referred to as Japanese plum, they are in fact a unique variety of apricot that becomes more sour as they ripen. They have a distinct tartness and are commonly pickled before being used in Japanese cuisine.

Ume is typically used to make umeboshi (salt-pickled plums) and umeshu (plum wine). It is also known for its health benefits, such as aiding digestion and providing antioxidants.

This delicious vinegar contains a balanced blend of flavours. The natural tartness of the ume plum provides a refreshing, sour fruity note whilst the honey balances the tartness, making the drink enjoyable and not overly sour.

The ume vinegar is extracted from the plums when they are pickled to make umeboshi.  On its own it's very salt but by combining the extracted vinegar with rice vinegar, apple vinegar and honey, it makes a deliciously refreshing drink.

In Japan, vinegar has been drunk for centuries, as it is considered to have many health benefits. It is thought to aid digestion, boost your immune system and combat fatigue.
