Grow Your Own
Grow wasabi plants | Grow your own fresh wasabi from wasabi seeds
Growing wasabi is a great experience or can be a great gift. Watch as your wasabi grows and share the delicious results with friends! With our kits, you'll have everything you need to grow your wasabi plant even if it's your first time gardening.
The leaves and stems are edible so enjoy leaf stems, wasabi leaves and more wasabi greens throughout spring and summer to spice up a salad. In March and April, the white scented flowers can be eaten raw or fried in tempura batter if you are out to impress. Harvest rhizomes at 100g or higher to share with friends as wasabi paste, over raw fish sushi or in any of the delicious and original recipes we have created with an English twist.
Plant in wet soil avoiding direct sunlight and follow our care guide for great results. It can take up to two years from planting wasabi to harvest a big sizes wasabi stem but it is worth the wait to enjoy real wasabi, We think we hold the British record at 377g for a single rhizome, if anyone can beat that we would prefer you keep it to yourself and not break our hearts!
