Stainless steel wasabi grater from Japan, specifically designed to help you create finely textured wasabi  (12cm x 7.5cm)

Breaking wasabi down at the cellular level is vital to bring together compounds that are held in different parts of the cell. The enzyme reaction that results is responsibile for both flavour and pungency, this will peak after 5-7 mins, hold for 15 mins then slowly reduce. For this reason wasabi is served at the table and grated little and often. A wasabi grater brush will help you mix the wasabi and gather all of the valuable paste from the grater.

Grater worked well but English wasabi was pretty tasteless

English wasabi was pretty tasteless

Hi Robin, happy to hear the grater did its job but not good about the tasteless wasabi. We sample every harvest and have not picked up any wasabi lacking in flavour or pungency. Very occasionally there can be individual stems that lack flavour, and it appears you may have been unlucky enough to receive one of these. We will send happily ship you a replacement so you can experience the true fire and flavour of our UK grown wasabi :)

Works really well

I was a little sceptical at first as to why I needed one of these but they create a very fine paste that other graters can manage. I will need to try it out with other things such as garlic, ginger turmeric etc to see what that produces.

Thanks Ron, yes they are brilliant graters - essential for wasabi as you say - and also work really well for garlic, ginger etc :)

Excellent quality

Great quality. Small, but but a perfect size for the job.
Sturdy and surprisingly weighty for its size.
Genuinely made in Japan and the quality shows.
I love this little grater!

Thanks Nick, it works brilliantly with garlic and ginger too!
