Frequently asked questions

Most of our ochoko hold around 40–60 ml, which is enough for a few sips before the temperature changes. Go for a taller sake cup (80–150 ml) if you prefer to drink slowly and want more aroma from each pour.

Yes. Our sake cups collection has individual cups and pairs. If you need a carafe separately, take a look at our sake carafes and warmers. We also sell sake gift sets that contain sake cups and a carafe.

Hand wash with warm water and a soft cloth – most Japanese ceramics last longer that way. Avoid sudden temperature changes, like pouring boiling water into a cold cup. Let pieces air-dry fully before storing them. Our cedar wood and maple sake cups need an even gentler clean and are not microwave- and dishwasher-safe.

It varies by piece. Some of our porcelain cups and carafes are dishwasher-safe, but handcrafted stoneware with textured glazes generally isn't. Check the product page for each item for any special care instructions.
