Togarashi Spiced Roast Potatoes

Togarashi Spiced Roast Potatoes

Like your roast potatoes? Then love these - we've given the humble roast tatti a Japanese kick with some of the famous togarashi 7 spice seasoning!

Ingredients:

  • 900g roasting potatoes, halved or quartered
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Togarashi seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Method:

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C.
  2. Wash the potatoes thoroughly and pat them dry with a kitchen towel. If the potatoes are larger, you can halve or quarter them for quicker roasting.
  3. Place the potatoes in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Drizzle the olive oil over the potatoes, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the Togarashi seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the potatoes and toss until they are evenly coated with the spices.
  7. Arrange the seasoned potatoes in a single layer on a baking tray
  8. Roast in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. You can turn them halfway through the cooking time to ensure they brown evenly.
  9. Once the potatoes are done, remove them from the oven and transfer them to a serving dish.
  10. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  11. Enjoy alongside your favourite roast!
